Rationale behind the establishment of Third Eye
Youths who are considered as pillar of development should take active role in the development of the country. However, due to lack of proper environment, bad company, unemployment and various other causes, youths are trapped in substance abuse, alcoholism and other forms of addiction. As a consequence, they suffer from psychological, emotional and financial problems among others. This in turn will have consequences for the government and the state at macro level. Nevertheless, it is also important to note that, it is not just the responsibility of government for the development of human and social architecture of the country. Realizing this, Third Eye aims to intervene in the ecosystem of gender inequality, child rights, human rights, education, health and environment etc.
Having envisioned that, however, currently we are working in the field of Rehabilitation of Youths who are engaged in substance abuse (Drug, Alcohol etc.). We also support to mitigate HIV/AIDS by launching various programme in the community and fight against stigma and discrimination. We support people and community to think and act freely, and create or perform effective action plans with determination to solve the existing social problems. Thus, our major concern is always in the holistic and long-run rehabilitation outcome. For this, we apply proactive transformative approach from the initial treatment, making our clients to start thinking about skill development by capitalizing their own skills and potentials and encourage them to initiate self-employment or small entrepreneurship measures. So far, the application of this framework has been helpful not only in the creative transformation but also in the advancement of economic capabilities after they leave our rehabilitation center.
